*****SHOP/LAB SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: *****
Safety equipment and protective clothing are required for all shop/lab classes. Safety items include; safety glasses, gloves, sturdy work boots, sturdy long sleeve shirts and long pants, welding hood, welding jacket and welding gloves. If you do not have these items, talk to the class instructor as safety requirements will be strictly enforced.  Any student who fails to meet these safety requirements will not be permitted to participate in the Shop/Lab and may be removed from class.


      

 EPRI Industrial Rigging Certification (Journeyman ONLY)

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday -  (6/4- 6/6) (6/11-6/13) (6/18-6/20) 4pm-8pm  (4 hours each)

Saturdays (6/15 and 6/22) 7am-3pm  (8 hours each)

Test Date Tuesday (6/25) 4pm-8pm

10 Nights of class and 2 Saturdays (Total of 56 hours of training)Attendance is a fundamental requirement for completing the course. Any absence will result in inability to fulfill course requirements.

Upon successful completion of the written and practical exam students will be provided with a certification in theoretical and practical components that cover industry-recognized rigging practices, including calculating center of gravity, sling stress, crane setup, crane components, and signals. Also the use of tuggers, jacks, and rollers will be discussed, rigging skills will be evaluated by using written and hand-on performance exams. Students must perform a sequence of crane lifts using multiple types of rigging equipment. Industrial rigging and crane signaling training modules will be demonstrated and used. Personal protective equipment is required.

Tradesmen Introduction to Building Automation & Controls

Tuesdays and Thursdays Dates: 04/30 - 06/27 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm (18 classes)

Students will then be exposed to the fundamentals of HVAC Controls. The course will start with a basic review of controls protocols, then expand into the incorporation of controls methodology and devices into HVAC equipment. Basic controls wiring methods and troubleshooting will also be reviewed.(Pre-Apprentices)
